Persephone began as a beautiful idea: vintage romance, natural AAA-grade labradorite, and a ring that felt quietly powerful. But the version you see today only exists because the first one wasn’t good enough.

CONFESSION
I don’t wear rings — but Persephone became my everyday exception.
The first time I wore Persephone, I understood why people fall in love with jewellery.
The shape was balanced. The stone caught the light in flashes of blue and gold. The design felt old-soul and romantic, like something with a story already inside it.
But then I started wearing it in real life.
Not for a photo. Not for a launch. Every day.
And that’s when the beautiful idea became a problem I couldn’t ignore.
The setting was wearing down the gemstone. I would catch myself moving the stone under my thumb, feeling it wiggle, and thinking: I could actually lose this.
For a ring named Persephone, that felt wrong.
A ring inspired by resilience, transformation, and choosing power after hardship couldn’t be fragile. It couldn’t be beautiful only when it was sitting still.
So I rebuilt it.
Then rebuilt it again.
And again.
The Turning Point
A meaningful ring should not fall apart at the first sign of real life.
The first version taught me about the setting and the stone.
The next version taught me about the need to reinforce the charm.
Then sizing inconsistencies showed up — and that became its own obsession. At one point, I personally measured over 300 rings and realized some size fives and sixes were not actually size fives or sixes.
I couldn't accept this.
So Persephone went through four versions, daily wear testing, customer feedback, upgraded settings, and hundreds of size checks before becoming the ring it was always meant to be:

How do I determine my ring size?
We suggest using our printable ring sizer to determine your ring size!
The most accurate way to determine your ring size, though, is to visit your local jeweller. They'll have tools specifically designed to accurately measure your ring size. And remember - each finger on each hand is a different size!
What is the Return & Exchange Policy?
Shipping
We do our best to process and ship your order as soon possible! All Canadian orders over $75, and US orders over $150 will get free shipping, and transit times are generally between five to 10 business days.
Returns
Sage Gems Jewellery takes great pride in providing quality items and service. Each order is cleaned, closely inspected, and packaged with great care and consideration before shipping it to you.
PLEASE inspect your jewellery thoroughly upon receipt, before wearing the pieces.
It may be tried on for size, but we can only accept returns if the jewellery is in new, unworn condition. If your jewellery arrives damaged due to transit, or you are unhappy with your purchase, please email hello@sagegems.ca within two weeks of receiving your order so we can assist you. Please note that return shipping costs are at the customer's expense.
Please note that all earrings, sale items, mystery gifts, shipping fees and gift cards are FINAL SALE.

Exchanges
Ordered the wrong size, or want to change the style you ordered? That's no problem! You have 14 days to exchange your item.
Rings and necklaces sent back for returns or exchanges that are not in new condition may be subject to a 25% restocking fee.

I was one of the testers for the early version of this ring. The original was sterling silver with gold plating. The gold plating came off easily after a couple weeks, and the gemstone began to wiggle in its setting. I wasn't confident in the ring so when Lesley said she was able to redesign it with the manufacturer, I knew I had to try it out.
I've been wearing the ring for three weeks now and it still looks like new. It catches people's attention more than my engagement ring which 🤯. The gemstone is gorgeous and I am still careful with it but it's defintely held up a LOT better than before.

First of all it's my first purchase so I did not know what I was getting into. The box arrived and it was like unboxing a fancy birthday gift. Baby blue wrapping paper that's giving a bridgerton vibe. I got a free ring and a thank you letter and that made my day. Then I opened the ring box which is very cute.
